Here at Yuma Elementary School District One we believe education should be an adventure where every child is thrilled to learn. We foster an environment that challenges students to develop their innate talents and abilities to the fullest. This investment in our children will enrich our community for years to come. To learn more about our district, please take some time to browse through our Web site and see what we have to offer our students, employees, and our community. Our site will answer many of your questions, including information about student enrollment requirements, program offered, and employment opportunities. There are links to our schools, information about local attractions, and hundreds of links to other useful Web resources. You can also meet our Governing Board, review agendas, or reach any of departments by e-mail or phone. If you have questions for which you don't find answers, we hope you'll contact us at the district office, or contact your child's school directly. Thanks for visiting Yuma Elementary School District's Web site. Enjoy your stay! ![]() Dear Parents, Teachers, Staff, and Students: Welcome to Yuma Elementary School District One. Our great start to the school year is no doubt a sign of the success to come. I am honored to be part of such a large and dynamic school district, and look forward to working with our highly qualified faculty and staff, as well as supportive and involved parents. Education is always at the forefront of a community’s concerns. Parents want their child to receive a quality education, teachers want the support to be able to provide that quality, and students want to have fun learning. Our school district is already doing a fantastic job in many areas. But just as we expect our students to always strive for their personal best, so too must we strive for our collective best. One of our most important new goals will be for our district to see 80% of our students meeting or exceeding the state standards within two years. We will do this by applying the Four R’s to all that we do: Rigor, Relevance, Relationships, and Relentlessness. We will not simply focus on making sure each child can pass a test, but on sustainable improvement that continues long after those tests are over. I know that with our continued commitment to the students in our community, we will be able to fulfill the promise of our name: District One. I am excited for the future of our district and the strengthening of our educational community.
