District One proudly announces Tricia Severs, special education teacher at Alice Byrne Elementary, as this year's Yuma County Teacher of the Year.

Congrats to all of the athletes who participated in the 2022 Track Meet. Fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students from all District One Schools competed in a variety of activities including long jump, softball throw, and relay race.

District One is grateful for the continued partnership with Arizona Western College as we work together to inspire future leaders. For many years, the I'm Going to College (IG2C) event has given elementary students an opportunity to experience a day in college and imagine all they can achieve.

On November 10, and in honor of Veterans Day, students at G.W. Carver Elementary School gathered to celebrate the dedication of The Private Delgado Reading Space, funded by the 6.25 Foundation.

The Character Strong trait that students learned about during October was courage.

A group of students from G.W. Carver Elementary School had an opportunity to learn about fishing and to cast their lines at West Wetlands Park.

During the months of August and September, the APS Supply My Class program awarded a total of $12,500 to 25 District One teachers.

Yuma School District One congratulates 11 students for achieving perfect scores on the 2021 AzM2 state standardized test for mathematics and English language arts.
